Information about World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day is celebrated every year on December 1st. It is an
internationally recognised day of reflection for those affected and effected by
HIV. The day is an opportunity to take part in celebration of the lives of those
effected by HIV, education about the virus and fundraising in support of local
and national agencies working with people who are affected by the virus.
There are many pages on the Internet that talk about HIV and it can be difficult trying to find resources that are suitable for your school or college. We have provided a short list of the websites that we think are most suitable for young people and have information that is credible.
World AIDS day is about highlighting the HIV virus, recognising stigma and prejudice, and education about how transmission can occur.
We hope that you are able to use some of the resources we have provided in your school or college and have a great World AIDS Day.
